Rocky Hideaway
A sense of great escapism is met by Lund Hagem’s Cabin Knapphullet located in Sandefjord on Norway's south-east coast. Passing the challenges of its harsh natural surrounding, the 30-square-metre house is nestled between the cracks of the rocky landscape and vegetation. Steps are paved in on the concrete roof, blending in the natural and man-made hard surfaces that act as a platform for a panoramic view of the ocean. Large glass walls provide an unobstructive view of the ocean keeping a harmonious flow from inside to out, and a design that leads the gaze from outdoor greenery to sawn oak walls and basket-woven oak ceilings.

“Although the building occupies such a small footprint, the space expands vertically over four levels including a roof terrace.”
