Determine your ideal scent.
Firstly, understand the layers of a fragrance.
Top Note is the first impression generally made of lighter oils. Made to evaporate after 5 to 30mins leading to the middle note.
Middle Note makes up 40-80% of the total scent and lasts between 2 to 4 hours. Usually made of stronger floral and spicy oils for a smoother balance and combination.
Base Note is the ending and lasting impression of fragrance. Revealed after interaction with the skin and body temperature and what makes each perfume unique.
Next, what elevates your senses? Select a type of composition.
Floral: Fresh cut flowers like roses, jasmine, lilies and frangipani and sweet spices - Maison Louis Marie No. 05 Kandilli, AYU Souq, Grandiflora Sandrine, Michel and Madagascan Jasmine
Oriental: Vanilla, musk, cardamom, smoky incense, ginger and cinnamon - Maison Louis Marie L'Etang, AYU Carnal, Grandiflora Boronia and Queen of the Night
Woody: Amber, cedar and sandalwood, patchouli, leather and oak moss - Antidris Cassis, AYU Black Musk and Ode
Fresh: Lavender, aromatic herbs, citrus, bergamot, berries, green and water - Maison Louis Marie Antidris Lime, AYU White Oudh
Finally, apply your scent of choice behind the knees, wrists and a little on clothing to give your fragrance time to rise and evaporate or apply behind the ears, around the neck and décolletage so it envelops immediately.
