Sarah Gittoes and
Robert Sebastian Grynkofki are the design duo behind Australian jewellery label
Sarah & Sebastian, founded in Bondi in September 2011. Based in Bondi, the
pair started by taking bespoke orders from friends and family before moving
naturally into their own business. The duality of their label - at once a celebration
of both delicate, barely-there rings and bracelets as well as bold, brassy neck
cuffs - represents the twosome's different approaches to design. Gittoes has a
background in fine arts, graduating from Sydney's COFA in 2010, while Grynkofki
is a trained goldsmith from Germany. These disparate origins only inform their
work, infusing their designs with bold shapes, urban sensibility and an
appreciation of light, movement and form.
