Marion Vidal established her eponymous jewellery
range in 2004, a year after graduating from Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine
Arts fashion course. Her statement pieces are informed by her previous life as
an architect in Paris and Milan, designing urban structures and buildings. Her
jewellery is similarly high impact. Combining incongruous materials liks wood
and ceramics, textiles and metal, Vidal's playful marriage of oversized stones
and knotted fabrics or metal tubes and ballooning spherical baubles innovates
the age-old craft to something quite modern and new. Alongside her critically
acclaimed collections, Vidal also designs for brands including Celine and
Christofle.
